I love OPI – Mad as a Hatter, but I never learn that it needs a good basecoat and care taken of it, lest I want it to chip. It lasted overnight at least and maybe looked nice for the midwife this morning. We got to hear the fetal heartbeat today, it was pretty incredible! 147 beats per minute – speed metal? Heh within normal limits and *perhaps* suggests it’s a girl – 2 weeks till the Ultrasound and maybe we’ll know then.
Otherwise things are good, I haven’t gained any weight yet (mainly through being unable to eat most of the first trimester) but I’m getting better. My cravings are salad, chicken and baked potatoes so pretty healthy really!
Anyway, OoTD – I maybe look a little pregnant in this shot. perhaps.

I only use about half their package of spice though as they are HOT! I also add in, chicken, our own veggies and erm I may cook the chicken in golden syrup. maybe.
As you can see, today much effort has(n’t) gone into my outfit. Least I’m not naked shall we say.
I seem far too interested in grey at the moment, I need to colour it up somehow – but my wardrobe is a mess of stuff that really doesn’t go together. fail!

I did however finally succeed in my quest for perfect Jacket potato!
It involved – an oven at 190 degrees C, 2 hours
Pricking the potato lots, rubbing it with oil, then salt and a little pepper.

Ahhh the end of the week caught up with me – and I’m only just getting ahead again! Seems there’s so much to do, from bag comissions to tidying the flat (how do I make it messy, how?!). It’s all mad as a fish. Anyways guest post for a lovely lady written, nail polish bought for my secret santa (and I’m trying really hard not to try it myself!), and a few pictures uploaded to photobucket to see us here through a few days… I hope. Oh yes and chicken stock brewing on the stove, my first ever!
So where was I? Yes a slightly better Bad Romance picture!

I really love bad romance, and it really makes me want the other glitters from Deborah Lippman, I mean they are just ah-mazing. The wear was great as well – no chips before I took it off after 2,5 days, and I’d been doing all sorts with it on. Removal using pads and wrapping them around my fingers for about 10 seconds was pretty much pain free with just a couple of hexagons being a bugger.
My topcoat – Speed Demon is however dying – I’m just over halfway through the bottle and it’s causing shrinkages all around and just being a little thick bugger to use.
Then we have Thursdays Outfit of the day – plenty of purple to go around here!
The crochet top is from Indiska, and it’s actually the first time I’ve properly worn it – I was going to give it to charity – glad I didnt now.

So in the early hours of yesterday morning, the last of the Chilean miners and their rescuers were lifted from the collapsed mine after having been trapped approximately 700 metres underground for 69 days, of which the first 17 no-one knew they were alive for.
As a geologist I watched the footage, from the men being found to their rescue with great interest. I was so terrified/hopeful/scared for them and how long it would take for them to be rescued/if there were to be a happy ending. So I was pretty delighted when it was all over. I hope though that they can all adjust back accordingly, it must be hard – especially with the media attention they have recieved.
Anyway, I wanted to do a manicure to celebrate – it’s relatively simplistic in it’s approach, but yes!
I’ve used – H&M Moonless night topped with Claires Chunky Gold (it was a gold mine), and then on my ring finger I’ve semi-ruffianed the colours of the Chilean flag and also of the Phoenix 2 capsule which raised them all to safety.
I’m especially happy with how the Claires polish sits over the moonless night, I wasn’t at all sure I’d like this polish to begin with, but whoa horsies it’s lovely.
