OoTD and Noodles!

I love OPI – Mad as a Hatter, but I never learn that it needs a good basecoat and care taken of it, lest I want it to chip.  It lasted overnight at least and maybe looked nice for the midwife this morning.  We got to hear the fetal heartbeat today, it was pretty incredible!  147 beats per minute – speed metal?  Heh within normal limits and *perhaps* suggests it’s a girl – 2 weeks till the Ultrasound and maybe we’ll know then.

Otherwise things are good, I haven’t gained any weight yet (mainly through being unable to eat most of the first trimester) but I’m getting better. My cravings are salad, chicken and baked potatoes so pretty healthy really!

Anyway, OoTD – I maybe look a little pregnant in this shot. perhaps.

Cardigan, Top and Leggings – H&M

Socks – Gift from dad for Christmas

And finally a wee shot of some soup noodles boiling – we love these (korean I think) noodles, they really are tasty tasty.

I only use about half their package of spice though as they are HOT! I also add in, chicken, our own veggies and erm I may cook the chicken in golden syrup. maybe.

Grumplepuss?

As you can see, today much effort has(n’t) gone into my outfit.  Least I’m not naked shall we say.

I seem far too interested in grey at the moment, I need to colour it up somehow – but my wardrobe is a mess of stuff that really doesn’t go together. fail!

T-shirt, Cardigan, Leggings, Legwarmers – H&M

Skirt – Gem-altered Jumper

On the plus side, I henna’ed my hair last week and it turned out stunning!  This time I used Lush Marron, and it has just added an awesome red colour!

OoTD

Pretty unexciting today…

T-Shirt – Marissa’s Shop

Cardigan – H&M

Skirt – Altered Jumper

Leggings – Sainsburies

Leg Warmers – H&M

I did however finally succeed in my quest for perfect Jacket potato!

It involved – an oven at 190 degrees C, 2 hours

Pricking the potato lots, rubbing it with oil, then salt and a little pepper.

OMNOMNOMNOMN.

Outfit and Eye of the Girls night out, and what I didn’t know about being pregnant…

Why hello there!

At the weekend I had a girls night out with some wonderful ladies – it was a great opportunity to wear some of my favourite things from Twinkie Chan and Plastic Bat and put on some makeup.  I’m sure I’ve worn this combo many times and will no doubt wear it a million times again, but well if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!

OoTNight

Wearing:-

  • Maneki Neko Necklace from Plastic Bat
  • Cami from Monsoon
  • Cardi and skirt from Twinkie Chan
  • Leggings from Sainsburies (hehe)

One awesome thing I realised when I went through my wardrobe the other day is that a lot of my things will work pretty much all the way through pregnancy (though I’m skipping the belts for now) – so that was really nice to realise.  I got a couple of maternity items from ASOS in the sale, which will make an apperance sooner or later and I might need some preggo pants in a few months, but we shall see.

Eyebrows look better when they arent totally in focus and I can see all the strays!

Look made with:-

  • Sugarpill – Tako on the inner eye.
  • MAC paint pot in painterly, Fyrinnae Pixie epoxy
  • Fyrinnae Sakura and Meerkat
  • MAC pigment in Parfait (I *think*)
  • Urban Decay eyeliner 24/7 the erm purple one
  • Urban Decay mascara in plum

See I’m getting better at remembering what I used, hehe!

So yes, there’s been a few things about pregnancy that I wish were first on the google search engine:-

Firstly a big fat disclaimer, when you search google to take everything you find with a gallon of salt!  It’s so easy to get so worked up about absolutely everything and worry about whether x is safe to eat or it’s safe to do y.  Especially when you have just found out you’re pregnant and the midwife/doctor isn’t interested till you’re 8/9 weeks in.  Advice also varies wildly from country to country.

Morning sickness is fail named (okay I realised this as soon as I started reading up on pregnancy, but still).  Whole day sickness more like, with special sickness added if you’re silly enough to commute on a train.  Thanks body!

12 week scans are quite…. hands into your belly – especially if you have a layer of flubber like I have.  Seriously I thought she was trying to touch my ass through my body, also you need to lower those trousers/skirt way more than you originally do.

Stomach cramps can be normal – this freaked me out the first time – and I’m still getting used to it.  Now I’m in the second trimester I think I’m experiencing round ligament pain at times, which is quite intense, though lasts for only a short period of time.

I’m pretty sure there will be more later – but yep!

Touches of Green OoTD (iphone shots)

Firstly, will grab my camera from storage and get some good shots today I promise!

Secondly, just wow!  I had a little chat with Maria of Cult Nails last week on twitter, and upon hearing my busy year ahead, the sweetheart insisted on sending me a polishy gift.  I of course couldn’t refuse – and also got Iconic while I was at it, but this is Living Water – the polish that a reader of her blog designed in a competition.  I *think* I even voted for it.  It’s a dark green with silverish glittery action to look like bioluminescence in water.

The polish was a dream to apply, 2 coats and again I promise decent pictures asap.

Secondly we have an EoTD – ignore the eyebrows, they need a good going at with some tweezers.

I used my Fyrinnae – names escape me! Along with 24/7 UD eyeliner, MAC paint pot in painterly and Pixie Epoxy

(Still need to work on it not looking so flat with my eyes closed though.)

A sneaky peek of my OoTD, which is simple as anything, but mneh!

Wooly wooly OoTD, well OoTCR but yeah

I did actually buy it, so yeah – I can post this, haha

Not the most flattering angle, but I have serious wool love this time of the year, and this covers all the bases:-

*covers arse/is a tunic

*has pockets

*is in awesome wool.

So yeah, I couldn’t resist.  Teamed it with a plain top today, which seemed to be awesomesauce.
